BloodHound Blood Tracking - RFID Technology

BloodHound - RFID Technology

One of the latest developments for MSoft’s established BloodHound blood tracking system sees the introduction of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. RFID tags can be used in patient wrist bands, staff ID badges and blood unit labels.

RFID Patient Wrist Bands
Because RFID tags can be read at a distance they allow medical staff to identify patients without disturbing them to read their wrist bands

RFID Staff ID Badges
RFID tags can also be used to identify medical staff, even when they are wearing surgical gowns or protective clothing

RFID Blood Unit Labels
MSoft’s sample labelling module uses RFID technology to ensure that blood samples are correctly identified at the patient bedside

All of our existing BloodHound modules are available with RFID, which offers the following advantages;

  • Information can be written to RFID tags, meaning they can be constantly updated
  • No need to invest in an expensive RFID reader, many handhelds have an RFID plug-in module
  • RFID tags are easier to scan then barcodes, therefore increasing efficiency and reducing the need for training
